Mille Lacs Corporate Ventures purchased the
Crowne Plaza St. Paul Riverfront Hotel. Together
with Graves Hospitality, who manages the
hotel, they began the process of renovating
and rebranding to become Minnesota’s only
InterContinental Hotel. As part of this project,
Welsh renovated all 410 rooms in the 24-story
hotel.

The project was completed in phases, with each
phase on a tight timeline to keep as many of
the rooms still occupied as possible. Careful
coordination was required to get materials and
laborers up and down the tower in an efficient
manner without disturbing hotel operations.
