Salons by JC, has "fully customizable salon suites for rent, that come equipped with everything to let you start working and turning it into your own private beauty or wellness studio.” From hair stylists, nail technicians, massage therapists and estheticians, Salons by JC offers an eclectic space for small business owners to call home in an inviting setting for clientele.

Looking to expand into another location in the Twin Cities (two which have also been in partnership with Welsh Construction), local Salons by JC franchise owners reached out to Welsh Construction to build-out a former retail space on bustling Hennepin Avenue in Uptown Minneapolis, MN. The space is two stories, with a grandiose, marble concierge desk and large coffee bar with island bar seating in the lobby and grand staircase leading to additional suites upstairs.

The suites have full height glass fronts, sliding glass barn doors and full height acoustical fabric on the back walls to control noise. Each suite comes equipped with Honeywell zoning systems, including its own damper and thermostat, which can also be controlled remotely. This helps with energy efficiency. The floors are polished concrete throughout the building with beautifully designed spaces, artwork and lighting throughout.

While being located in the heart of Uptown Minneapolis is great for business, it's quite challenging for construction. The location had no space for dumpsters and no on-site parking available, which was a constant hurdle for deliveries, workers and site logistics. Despite these challenges, the Welsh team delivered a beautiful finished product that was on-time and within budget after completing demolition of the previous retail store and full build-out of the new space.
